Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
With management experience and an implementation-oriented approach, the strategy consultant has a special passion for the topic of digitisation. Markus Naef attaches great value to teamwork, successful collaborations, trust in the abilities of his business partners and his outstanding network of relationships in the worlds of business, politics and administration.
After completing his studies in business and law at the HSG (now the University of St.Gallen), Markus Naef gathered experience as a start-up entrepreneur in the US and later took on management positions at various international companies. As a member of the Executive Leadership of Sunrise Communications AG, he assumed responsibility for the B2B business, where he actively oversaw the digital transformation of customers.
The SwissSign CEO is a goal- and results-driven “doer” and a team-oriented leader with strong communication skills. He is married, has one son and enjoys sport.

Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)
As CCO, Markus Venetz is responsible for the strategic and operational level of marketing, sales and product management. In this role, he specifies the product and market strategy and maintains the most important partner relationships. Together with his team, he ensures that all of the organisation’s functions are geared towards the long-term business and growth objectives.
The business economist completed his studies at the University of Zurich, possesses in-depth industry knowledge and worked for several years in management roles at Ricoh Switzerland, Sunrise and ABB.
Markus Venetz is a customer-, solution-, and team-oriented manager with long-standing experience in the telecommunications and technology sector. The married family man and father of two sons enjoys art and nature and is an enthusiastic tennis player.
Chief Development Officer (CDO)
As CDO, Urs Fischer is responsible for all consulting activities as well as pre- and post-sales activities. He pays special attention to ensuring the availability and ongoing development of products and services.
The electrical engineer with a postgraduate degree in business administration started his professional career with Erni in the field of hardware and software development. He later went on to take on the role of Director for Solution & Delivery at Cominformatic and from 2005 implemented various strategic projects at Swiss Post and subsequently managed the company’s strategic customer management. In 2010, he switched to SwissSign, took on responsibility for product development and the launch of SuisseID and prepared the joint venture as CEO.
The CDO is a skilled negotiating partner and attaches great importance to recognising customer needs at an early stage and implementing appropriate measures.
Urs Fischer is married and has two daughters. Whether building and flying model aircraft or archery: Urs Fischer enjoys everything that combines body and mind.
Chief Information Officer (CIO)
As CIO, Marcel Affolter assumes responsibility for strategic and operational IT management. In addition to overseeing technical product development, he also ensures the smooth running of the IT systems and management of the IT infrastructure.
Marcel Affolter has many years of experience in line, specialist and project management in the ICT environment. The qualified engineer managed the base platforms (directories, mainframe, DMZ/WEP, DBMS) at Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and also oversaw identity and access management (IAM) as well as, in his role as a senior project manager (IPMA B), strategic digitisation and transformation projects.
His is an outcome-driven, effective, flexible and committed manager. During his free time, the father of two sons enjoys spending time with his family and playing sport.
Chief Service Officer (CSO)
As CSO, Walter Herter is responsible for the monitoring, securing and optimisation of services for partners and clients. In compliance with the service level agreements (SLAs), he ensures the smooth running of service operations (support) and service delivery (fulfilment).
Walter Herter has more than 25 years of experience in senior management positions in the fields of customer service management and operations in the IT and telecommunications sectors. Thanks to his broad technical knowledge, his high degree of client and service focus and his strength in the area of change management, he makes a significant contribution to improving levels of client satisfaction and the client experience.
The father of two sees himself as a pragmatic hands-on manager who maintains his work-life balance by enjoying sports outdoors together with his wife and their dogs.
Reinhard Dietrich / Dr. sc. Tech. ETH
Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) / member of the Board of Directors of SwissSign LI
As CISO, Reinhard Dietrich ensures compliance with all legal regulations and assumes responsibility for the company’s overall security and data protection concept. He maintains contact with the relevant authorities and research institutions and represents the position of SwissSign in the relevant national and international committees.
Reinhard Dietrich holds a degree in IT engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) and worked as a senior consultant for KPMG in the area of IT security before assuming the role of head of technology management at Health Info Net HIN (healthcare sector). He stands out as a senior expert in the areas of IT security and cryptography as well as in the operation of secure IT infrastructures.
Confidentiality is important for him in his private life and he values being able to also guarantee this to customers.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
The development and implementation of the right financial strategy is just as much part of the CFO's realm of responsibility as financial, operational and payroll accounting and the provision of personnel and specialist management in these areas. Christoph Glatthard also coordinates HR and the budget processes, ensures appropriate controlling activities, oversees the planning and monitoring of costs and provides advice to line managers and colleagues in relation to financial and business matters.
As a business engineer and expert in the areas of accounting and controlling, he has been able to collect vast experience in the development, optimisation and management of finance departments in various fields including the machinery industry and retail and service sectors. He spent an extended period working abroad, primarily in India and the Asia-Pacific region.
To maintain a balance, Christoph Glatthard can often be found outdoors taking part in sport, be this in the mountains or on his bike.
